Next EMREM Meeting

Funding for the Arts and Humanities in the Past and the Present

If Charlemagne and Louis the Pious funded the writing of Einhardt,

if John of Gaunt funded the poetry of Chaucer,

if Henry VIII and Charles V funded the studies of Erasmus

why won’t the present government fund any of my work?

This and many other fascinating questions related to the poverty of scholars shall be discussed in the upcoming EMREM meeting. All postgraduates with a healthy appetite for debate and free tea and biscuits welcome!

Wednesday, 2nd February
Room 103, Arts Building
1-2pm
