It is with much sadness that we have to announce that our 10th Annual Symposium planned for May will not be going ahead. As a committee, we felt it best in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic to prioritise the health and wellbeing of everyone who would have attended the symposium, and by extension their friends and families. At present, there are no plans to reschedule the symposium. It was a heart-breaking decision to have made, especially as this was our anniversary year, but we all need to proceed now not only with caution and kindness but in solidarity with one another.
We would like to thank everyone who submitted a proposal for the symposium for their time and effort. We loved reading each and every one of them as they came in and were excited about how well they would fit together in what promised to be a fantastic event. We know that a lot of work, time, and effort went into those proposals and we hope that you all get the opportunity to present your papers in the future.
This is a worrying time for everyone and now more than ever is kindness, consideration, and solidarity needed. Amidst all the uncertainty and concern, remember that we are all human, that everyone needs a helping hand sometimes, and that we’re all in this together. Stay safe and if you are feeling isolated, feel free to interact with us on our social media accounts- we’re always happy to chat!
